Being under an NDA, this case study will focus on publically available information and my process while omiting metrics and detailed design work.
PhysicsX empowers enterprises to rapidly develop, deploy, and scale a new generation of AI tools across the full product lifecycle. By combining fast AI-driven physics inference with numerical simulation, our platform helps accelerate development, reduce risk, and drive the creation of highly optimized products.
My mission
I joined PhysicsX to take on the simulation management and orchestration tool known as Simulation Workbench (or SimWB).
Not only does it facilitate 2D/3D simulation analysis, it also helps users track their previous simulation work with smart labelling and a data lineage interface.
Simulation is costly, so saving the process rather than just the result is often more efficient and equally insightful. The real challenge that we are solving for comes months later, when SimWB needs to help users understand their past process, trace how they reached it and find where all relevant files are stored.
My achievements
Since joining PhysicsX, I’ve made a point of bringing design into the conversation early by running focus groups and design audits. Even without an engineering background, I put together an engineering glossary that became so popular it’s now part of the onboarding toolkit. I’ve also built strong relationships with client project leads and senior simulation teams, which has really helped bridge gaps across disciplines.
More recently, I’ve been pushing the use of Figma Make and Claude Design to speed up ideation and create realistic prototypes for user testing. It’s quickly become a must have for SimWB engineers, giving them a reliable source of truth they can check asynchronously, even when they’re deep into complex work and away from upcoming design changes.
Today..
I work with all company guilds to deliver high-quality visuals for prospect calls, implementation ready Figma designs for software engineers, prototypes for sales demos and thorough documentation for tracability of insights.
I have full ownership of the product strategy and E2E product design thinking of SimWB. I also help build company culture by organizing karaoke and board game nights!
